Back in June I talked about some values I’d identified as things I wanted to live by. I haven’t done much with them since… I’ve chosen the life I want to live, and I’m going after it full-steam. Gotta make sure I take my morals, ethics, and values with me. Each month I’m going to pick a value to focus on and do my best to integrate it fully into my life.
September’s Value Focus: Class & Grace
“Greatness is not found in possessions, power, position, or prestige. It is discovered in goodness, humility, service, and character.” — William Arthur Ward (1921-1994) author, educator, and motivational speaker
I will believe in the good of others, and always strive to showcase my own goodness through patience, valuing other people, and building meaningful relationships with others.
I will charge forward with humility by understanding that I haven’t achieved this great life all on my own. I give great gratitude to God and to those who have shaped my life along the way and made me who I am today. I’ll never forget or take for granted the gifts that have been left on my heart.
There is a reason that I’m here on this planet. There is some service that I must give to the world, and I believe whole-heartedly in being a servant leader. The Koran says that the most excellent actions are to gladden the heart of a human being, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the wrongs of the injured. I will do that.
I will live with Class and Grace.
